Jingle Shells

translucent amber

concave coins

cast up from the sea

oval opening at the apex

licked by the spoked rasp

of a radula

i haltingly string the tidal beads

along a wire that i walk

and listen to them rattle

these chiming catchers of my dreams

the broken, holy, whole things

that find a way to sing

Thank you to M. Zane McClellan at the Poetry Channel for the inspiration, a visit to the Connecticut shoreline in a poem. Click the link to read it.
