Pieces

You fell to sleep under the

moon,

Who also closed its eyes over

me,

Craters and crags.

Am I simply an impression in the

 sand?

What value is an exhaled

 breath,

The movement of my

heart?

Do trees remember last summer’s

 Leaf,

Fluttering to the

Ground?

Who will remember?

When you fall to sleep,

You will remember yourself.

Love has no separate pieces.

  1. fyi…when I saw this post in the WP Reader it only showed the image. There was no hint of a poem below it. It has happened before. I have no idea why their Reader does that. It crunches posts to fit some format. Certain ones suffer. We authors have less control over the look-and-feel of the presentation of our work. That seems counter to the general goal of blogging.

    1. I know. I have to go to the website version to get the best view. For poetry there is a limitation to what you can achieve in the formatting of the text. One blogger suggested using the HTML format instead, but I am not adept at that. It is a bit frustrating. Also, I uploaded this poem using the app on my phone. It is even more limited. I really appreciate you letting me know Jim. It always helps to have another set of eyes.

      1. It seems another example where ‘eye candy’ of images gets to choose the rules of the game. Over the years, I’ve watched many good websites change from presentation of content to a mass of big blocky images. Which is more visible on a cell phone? That seems to be the deciding principle.

I hope you have an interesting day. I aim to.
