Glow

photons

scattered

by the medium

of a cerulean  planet,

solidify in me.

.

there is no air to breathe

in the zone between

the nucleus and the orbitals

of an atom.

i am made of the space

that exists

on the far side

of the universe.

.

there are

parts of me

that hover

in the troughs

of  standing waves,

awaiting the energy

to escape.

.

the brush of your lips

is the meeting

of trillions of particles,

as earth kisses herself

through us.

.

and gulls

never entertain thoughts

about God

or religion.

.

if only we

could simply

be.

.
According to Thomas Aquinas, God is “to Be”, the act of existing in Love…become that which you seek.

  1. This is great. Pardon my presumptions, but it’s submittable if you know what I mean. Of a quality found in literary magazines. Nicely done, Maria.

      1. I was sure you’d like them 🙂 I translated all the poems in the project for a couple of years, it was so fulfilling compared to other types of work! I’ve also worked for more than a decade with an Italian poet, we have a new book coming out late spring…
