Inward

narrow interstice

in the rock wall,

i fit stones

to leave no space

for wind’s brief exhale.

bracing for impact

from inner vortices,

i rise to meet them

with a kiss of sun’s warmth,

petal-soft fingertips

on the skin of the world.
