Arouse

my nimble fingers

have gathered shadows

from beneath lotus petal blooms,

casting their dusky remnant

to the scintillating tide.

.

as coyotes mournfully

howl their trickery

before the dawn-lit hills,

i part liquid skin

in search of my reflection.

.

cupping her face

with my hands,

i dare to place

 the kiss of life

on my own lips,

.

 accepting

 the beauty there –

without and within.

.
