Blistering

the sultry wind’s hand

presses the reed of silence.

a nonchalant glance,

as memory scrapes the distance

with it’s odd knotted branch.

a tendril traces nape

to the verdant valley,

where the rain’s rivulet ribs

carve the  circumference

of emptiness.
