A Way

a still life,

witness to the interplay

of caricatures,

a tapestry of needs.

.

wrap these shoulders

in the cloak of infinity.

the raiment

of an alternate way.

this life,

back turned,

head raised,

the dignity of solitary voice,

and strain

of the hammer descent

on corporeal injustice,

to claim the ground

of your being.

.

work done

and we become

the misted tendril

ajoining one

desire,

love for the sake of itself.

.

To love in authenticity is to engage in a countercultural act, a form of peaceful defiance in the face of consumerism, materialism, greed, fear, exploitation, and hatred. As social beings, we have internalized those negative aspects of society. The most courageous act is to hunt those aspects in the self, to love yourself from the ground of your being, and to act from a space of compassion instead. It is the only choice you ever truly have that is your own.
