Petite Pugilist

a play of light on the concave

the silent ricochet

cutting words you say

and i stay and i stay

.

beneath a loquacious moon

catching nectar with a spoon

before it dries in my sighs

for what you think of me

looming fathoms deep

in a cedar chest of dreams

.

i once sheltered in the day

in a future tucked away

here i stay here i stay

for the kosmos loves the brave

.

  1. This stanza is amazing, Maria. I love what you did here:

    “beneath a loquacious moon

catching the nectar with a spoon

before it dries in my sighs

for what you think of me

    looming fathoms deep

in a cedar chest of dreams”
