Ferocity

i sing to you through

the velvet truth of my gaze

slivered and spooned for slumber

like the silver birds

that ornament the celestial canopy

i breath a life force honesty

the heeling rain that lines your veins

caressing the cambium’s peeling rifts

i am the smoldering earth’s

molten terrain

roaring with the passionate

ferocity of truth

born of the stellar womb

imbued with an infinity

of possibilities

i breath through

the umbilical of time

bringing forth a fountain of generosity

alabaster mouth pouring anointing

to quench an eon of tears

pooled beneath a ruminating moon

changeless

i will never be anything less

than beautiful

.

My sisters…do not settle for being anything less. Command respect. True love of self and other is a fierce thing.

  1. These lines:
    “slivered and spooned for slumber
    like the silver birds
    that ornament the celestial canopy”
Such strength, Maria. And yes, “command respect”. Beautiful piece.
