Juxtaposition

iridescent wings

sew the season

tilting their rosy eyes

to perceive compressed time

the sliding scale

from hip to thigh

a silken perception

squinting through the skies

of reason and compromise

.

i glimpse above the line

weaving from both sides

the snake that heals

with twisting of dual tales

the one i tell

the other i keep

for you live in me

and know

i straddle the tide

so…

feel my skin

in the closing of the distance

a soul’s length wide

.
