sing to me

of reason’s seasoning

and the duplicity

of overthinking

leaning on a starboard reach

take the stern

of discernment

as you press

an inaudible kiss

to my sternum

swinging the boom

into a yearning wind

a rescinding

of life’s sorrowful tales

beneath the southern gales

waves felt at depth

here the bereft

have wept for our sake

into the wake

of the diatomaceous

where they are swept

into detritus

building the cliff’s

towering steps

and i press

into your palm

the secrets

my heart has kept
