you return

my words to me

with a tenderly fingered

whispered verse

an unrehearsed

this rendering

of lip and tongue

and love spun

with arms and eyes

that know of mine

from the inside

for you wear me

with gentility

kissing and opening

where love eases

like smoke rings

a spacious essence

as i press my tide

to your chest

where nothing more

need ever be said

The first time I had ever heard my poetry read to me. Gratitude.
