Red Balloons

red marks the spot

where love abides

before the home

where i reside

I am happy to get some rest today. I meet over two hundred new people this week. Memorizing names, long hours of standing, and late nights… I am grateful for some time at home. Writing, tea, napping, and walking around barefoot are little luxuries. It really is the small things.

These red balloons have been flying in front of the apartment where I live since I landed here. I didn’t notice them when I first drove in, but they greet me every day. If you want to know the meaning, read the children’s story “The Red Balloon” by Albert Lamorisse.

These are for you.🎈
